Several suburban companies, including a company in Buffalo Grove, will be laying off employees in the coming months. The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity in its monthly WARN reports listed 14 companies in Illinois planning to close and/or provide its workers with pink slips. Under state law, employers must notify the state when they plan to lay off workers. This law is known as the WARN Act or Illinois Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.
