Microsoft cites the example of MDLIVE – a provider of online and on-deman..>> view originalToyota teams with Segway inventor to revive innovative iBot wheelchair
Dean Kamen, the man who gave us the Segway, has teamed up with Toyota to bring back another one of his most fascinating transportation devices: the iBot. The iBot debuted back in the late '90s as an innovative multi-wheel chair that gave wheelchair-bound users the ability to travel up steep stairways, elevate themselves to the height of a standing person and even traverse rough, outside terrain. However, with a cost of about $25,000 per unit, the device simply didn't find enough users to stick..>> view originalASUS, Gigabyte tease their aftermarket GTX 1080 designs
ASUS, Gigabyte tease their aftermarket GTX 1080 designs Posted By Alessandro Barbosa on May 23, 2016 | 17 comments The GTX 1080 is hitting shelves this Friday, but sadly in only one flavour. The anticipated entry into consumer Pascal cards is coming exclusively from Nvidia for the first wave, with the more expensive Founders Edition looking likely to be the only card on sale for a considerable time. The likes of ASUS and Gigabyte (as well as many other manufacturers) are expected to launch the..>> view originalWith the Sony PlayStation NEO, AMD may have forced Sony's hand
Sony’s decision to build the PS4.5 a.k.a. the PlayStation NEO may have been precipitated by AMD’s decision to shift to a 14nm manufacturing process. The current PlayStation 4 (PS4) uses chips based on AMD’s 28nm manufacturing process, which is now very old and comparatively inefficient. It’s also more expensive to manufacture today. At the expense of oversimplifying the situation, the manufacturing process mentioned above refers to the size of the transistor in a computer chip. As a rule of thu..>> view originalGoogle's new app lets users conduct scientific research on their phones
Google's new Android app revamps the clipboard for scientific field experiments. The app, called Science Journal, measures and records data in real time, and then converts that data into easily readable graphs and charts. Users can store several projects in the app, and use tools like an accelerometer, plus light and sound meters, in order to gather information for their projects. For example, a user could record their running pace everyday for a week, and then chart their progress on a line gr..>> view originaliPhone 7 case leak indicates a total of 4 speaker grilles, new larger rear camera and flash design
An unusual iPhone 7 leak is making the rounds today, showing some changes that have not be seen before. An Italian case manufacturer is showing a potential chassis design that features ‘four speakers’ and new layout for the rear camera and flash, including a hole for a larger aperture (via NowhereElse). As pictured, there are two speaker grilles cut into the top of the case and another two grilles on the bottom side. This is not corroborating with previous leaks, that showed an iPhone 7 design ..>> view originalOculus Kills App That Let Vive Owners Play Rift Exclusives
Last month we reported on Revive, a proof-of-concept compatibility layer that allowed games exclusive to the Oculus Rift to be played using the HTC Vive headset. This week’s Oculus app update took steps to ensure that trick doesn’t work anymore. Revive basically bypassed code checks that tethered games like the delightful Lucky’s Tale to the Oculus Rift hardware. Games still had to be acquired legally through the Oculus Home storefront. Revive just allowed those purchased games to run on somet..>> view originalReview: Jaybird Freedom
Josh Valcarcel/WIRED A few months ago, we told you about the imminent arrival of Sine, the new compact on-ear headphones from Audeze. They use planar magnetic drivers, not the dynamic drivers found in most headphones. Dynamic drivers are the familiar cone-shaped variety you’ve seen a million times—look inside the stereo speakers in your living room and you’ll see them. Within each earcup of a planar magnetic headphone, however, is a thin, flat (hence “planar”) membrane with conductive material ..>> view originalSoldier: 76 Plays Hero In The Final Animated Overwatch Short Of The Season
GIF With the game’s launch just a day away, Blizzard has released the fourth and final animated Overwatch short of the season, giving the vigilante known as Soldier: 76 a chance to atone for past transgressions. The oldest Overwatch character by far, Soldier: 76's driving skills might be a little rusty, but his shooting is totally on point. In the “Hero” animated short our mysterious masked man demonstrates that his heroic instincts are firmly in place as well. And t..>> view original
